Stage 1: KI
Hi reader and potential player. This post is to announce some major changes in the game.
I've been developing this game for the last 6 month, working on visual assets, animations, transitions, music, dialogues, all this to be able to tell a story. A story and a journey that can make the player to feel the joy I imagined when I started designing this experience.
I paid special attention to the playability, iterating many times on level design. Looking for making them well balanced: Increasing difficult, including new elements and rules, supporting a consistent story.
Even when Everlong Quest is a puzzle solving game, it felt right to have a big moment for the KI scene finale, so I decided to include a "boss fight" but being respectful of the skills and motivation that brought players to this experience. I'd love to hear opinions on this topic once you get there.
The theme of Everlong Quest is an ancient civilization, Sumerian civilization to be specific. Names, decoration, objects and story are based on that culture and suits perfect to put in perspective how some stereotypes or social rules are older than we think.
The goal of Everlong Quest is to provide entertainment, surprise, self-improvement, (maybe nostalgic) and let you thinking about the experience and the message.
I sincerely hope you enjoy it.
Play well!!
